Glenise Clelland Australian visual artist
Glenise Clelland is an established Australian artist with over 30 years of exhibiting at major galleries and selling paintings in Australia and overseas. She attended the Brisbane College of Art - now Queensland University of Technology. She is best known for landscape and figurative paintings and drawings particularly paintings of the Pacific Islands, PNG. and Northern Australia.
Glenise now works from her studio at Noosa North Shore which is surrounded by acres of waterlily ponds and tall melaleuca trees. The ever changing light and reflections on the ponds are a constant source of inspiration. Her vibrant and diverse contemporary paintings express her passionate love of strong colour, texture and dynamic forms.
Glenise has won numerous prizes, including the Ian Fairweather Memorial Prize & Sunshine Coast Drawing Prize. She has had 15 solo exhibitions . Her paintings have been selected for prestigious exhibitions like Tattersalls Landscape Prize (4 times) and many Regional Galleries such as Pine Rivers Award, Celebrate Queensland Award, Flying Arts Award, Stanthorpe Award and APQ selected exhibitions at Waterfront Place. Her painting from the Aboriginal University of Australia Collaboration is now one of the panels in the Noosa Hospital Mural. Three of her paintings were selected for the inaugural Florence Biennale Exhibition in Italy.
Her paintings are keenly sought and are represented in Government, Corporate and private collections in Australia and overseas.
38 images of her figurative work are now available in 2 art/poetry books –‘Love Falls in Love with Love’ in full colour and ‘Of Loving and Sensualities’ in black and white. These quality books are available from QAGOMA book shop, galleries gift and book shops.

Glenise is a member of the Half Dozen Group and Wallace House where she regularly attends life drawing sessions.
