I was born in Cheltenham England. At 9 years of age my family immigrated to Australia. My childhood was spent on the beach, at Seaford Victoria. I’m a Pastry-cook by trade and owned a Bakery in Monbulk Victoria for 11 years. On retirement, my family and I travelled around Australia for 3 1/2 years in a caravan. Drawing & sketching have always been an interest of mine. The time was right to pursue my interest in art. I became a member of the watercolour art group at U3A in Ferntree Gully. My work was displayed in art shows and galleries around the Dandenong’s. Realising a much warmer, kinder climate, was waiting for us in Noosa Queensland. We moved in 1997 and I joined the WAGS Watercolour Art Group at Wallace House in Tewantin. Later, also joining the Creative Artists Group and Tinbeerwah Art Group. I now paint with acrylics and oils and incorporate my trade skills, with the use of piping bags and pallet knives. This adds structure and texture to my paintings. This also helps in my new interest of sculpting with clay. I am finding this new medium very exciting and am a member of the Wallace House Potters Group.
