Pamela Mitchell Art Profile and CV
Acrylic and oil paintings, figurative pastel and charcoal media
I have painted in oils from the first paints my grandmother gave me as a child of twelve. Acrylics finally won me over in the 90s, but I still love oils, often used over acrylic for depth and richness and texture
My inspiration comes from capturing interesting people in their everyday work, with fresh images constantly stirring my imagination. I enjoy working with charcoal and pastel too, charcoal for drawing and pastel for colour sketches and portraits. Charcoal is also often brought into my acrylic paintings, as I love the look of freshness it creates.
I’ve always felt blessed to have this gift of needing to draw and paint. Now I am enjoying teaching others how to make the most of their painting.
My work hangs in private collections across Australia, Thailand, Greece, Scotland and England.
